Hebrews 10:1 "For the
law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the
things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year
continually make the comers thereunto perfect."
Dieters need to be wary of
putting off our lives until we lose weight. We think, “When I get down to my
goal I’ll go after that promotion.”
That’s a mistake on two
levels. One is that we put too much pressure on ourselves to be a completely
different person once we get thin—it can scare us into sabotaging our diets.
The second is that we don’t have to wait until we’re thin to enjoy our lives. We can go after that promotion and all the other things we keep putting off now and shed the light on the shadow of good things to come.
