Philippians 4:11 "Not
that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am,
therewith to be content."
Since losing weight takes
such a long time, we are doomed to be unhappy if we focus on how much longer
the diet will last. We don’t want to lose motivation and we don’t want to lose
sight of our goal, but we can learn to be content each step of the way.
At the beginning, we can
be happy because we will probably lose a disproportionate amount of weight at
the beginning. Half way through, we can be glad that our bodies are being
remolded by the exercises we are doing, even if we are at a plateau
weight-wise.
Close to the end, we can be glad we are almost finished and be grateful we stuck to it and made it happen. In-between, we can be content that we can wear smaller sizes than we could before.
