Sorrow and Eating

Read Job 16-18

Job 16:20 "My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God."

Our reaction to sorrow is probably eating. We got into the habit of eating in an attempt to lift ourselves up.

But it never did work. No matter what we ate—from chocolate to comfort foods—our sorrow remained.

So we need to find another way besides eating to cope with sorrow. Fortunately, we can cry out to the Lord and pour everything out to Him, as often and for as long as we like, and never gain an ounce.
