Job 27:4 "My lips
shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit."
When someone asks us a
question that we don’t want to answer, we don’t have to lie. We can decline to
answer.
We can get into the habit
of telling the truth, even about those things we normally would be tempted to
lie about, like our weight. Telling the truth can be freeing, because we don’t
have to remember the extra things we have lied about.
It’s not only a good habit
to get into, it’s pleasing to the Lord. If we don’t want to tell the truth, we
don’t have to say anything.
