1 Samuel 1:15 "And
Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I
have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before
the Lord."
When we’re sad, food makes
us feel better. We eat to comfort ourselves, even if what we prefer is not know
as one of the “comfort foods.”
Unfortunately, we are most
likely to choose high fat, high calorie, high carbohydrate foods. And we tend
to keep eating, since food can only go so far to make us feel better.
As we keep eating, hoping
to feel better, we are going to feel worse when all those calories, fats, and
carbohydrates stick around. We don’t want to undo all the hard work we did,
getting those pounds off and will want to find something else that will make us
feel better without regret.
