Starvation

Read Genesis 47-50

Genesis 47:13 "And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine."

When we’ve overindulged one day, we may try to make up for it the next day. It’s tempting to starve ourselves until we’ve repaid those excess calories.

Anyone who has attempted starving will tell you it’s not effective. Hunger will drive you to eat and being overly hungry might make you eat anything you can find whether it’s a good food choice or not.

Then, not only do you feel guilty, you’re right back where you were the day before: overindulged. Starvation is the beginning of a cause and effect sequence that will sabotage your weight-loss efforts.
