Manual Labor

Read Exodus 1-4

Exodus 1:12 "But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel."

Exercising will only get us so far. We can sneak in an increase in the calories we use up every day by increasing our other physical activities.

Housework uses plenty of calories: vacuuming, mopping, even washing dishes by hand. Other increases can be found outdoors: in the garden—pulling weeds or planting, and washing and vacuuming the inside of the car.

Instead of dreading necessary chores, we can view them as opportunities. It’s good for us and every calorie burned doing manual labor gets us closer to our weight and health goals.
