Genesis 32:32
"Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which
is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow
of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank."
There are lots of reasons
why we avoid certain foods. We may not like the taste of them. We may not like
the smell of them. We may think they look too weird to be tasty.
Maybe we associate them
with punishment or traumatic events in the past. Maybe we associate them with
good memories but can’t bear to revisit the memory because of recent loss.
We just need to be aware of why we avoid a food that otherwise might be a healthy choice for us. In the search for nutritious variety in our diets, we might take a second taste and find a new addition to our dining repertoire.
