Fruitful Seasons

Read Acts 13-15

Acts 14:17 "Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness."

Going into the winter and holiday seasons, most of us have a history of gaining weight during this time. We cozy in and cooking, baking, and eating just seems like a good way to spend our time, so the weight piles on.

Animals gain weight before hibernating, so why shouldn’t we? We may not plan on sleeping our way through the winter, but with less sun, sleeping also seems like a good way to spend our time—and more weight piles on.

We can have a fruitful season in the winter just as much as we will in the spring and summer. We can use the additional time indoors and holiday parties to use energy cleaning our houses, maybe for a party or for the Christmas decorating and doing more will help stop weight gain and may even mean a few extra pounds will come off.
