Labor of Thine Hands

Read Psalms 126-130

Psalms 128:2 "For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee."

When I was a kid the rule in our house was that no baked goods or other dish destined for a potluck or other shared celebration left the house without leaving its twin behind. That way we didn’t have to smell all the great smells in vain.

We knew that we would be able to eat the labor of our hands whether we were going to the gathering or not. When we’re dieting, we might be in the situation where we are making something we think we shouldn’t eat.

But if we control our portions, we should be able to eat a tiny piece. No one should be barred from eating the labor of their own hands.
