Read Luke 10-12
Luke 11:5 "And he
said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at
midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;"
I had a neighbor who kept
borrowing flour from me every week or so. No matter how much I gave her, she
couldn’t seem to plan her needs ahead of time and kept borrowing from me.
It worked when I had it to
spare, but other times it meant I ran out of flour myself and had to get more.
We can understand a person’s reluctance to lend loaves to his friend—especially
when he called in the middle of the night.
