Luke 7:44 "And he
turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into
thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet
with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head."
A good guest tries to fit
into the host’s plans and not need special accommodations. But a good hostess
wants to spread out the hospitality welcome mat for her guests, no matter what accommodations
are needed.
First, we want to know if
our guests have any food allergies, since it will not do our reputations any
good to have our guests depart in ambulances. Next, we want to know what preferences
our guests may have—for instance, are they crazy about cashews?
Lastly, we may want to show off a bit. We might try a new recipe or prepare a gourmet dish that will make our guests’ remember their visit for years.
