1 Kings 19:7 "And the
angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise
and eat; because the journey is too great for thee."
We may engage in
preventative eating. That’s eating that we do for purposes other than hunger to keep from getting hungry.
We eat because it’s
lunchtime and we fear if we don’t eat now that we have the time we will get
hungry later. We don’t know when it might happen, so we don’t know if we will
get a chance to eat then.
We may eat before we go to
a party. We may not be hungry, but we do some preventative eating, so we
aren’t so hungry by the time food is served that we eat more than we intended.
