Food on the Cheap

Read 2 Kings 7-9

2 Kings 7:1 "Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria."

We love a good sale, but may not always trust one, if it concerns food. If the food is too cheap, maybe it’s because there’s something wrong with it.

But there are reasons other than expiration dates for food to be cheap. Fruits and vegetables in season are one example.

Food with damaged packages might deserve a second look. The damage may mean the food is also damaged, or it could mean the food is good, just not so pretty to look at.
