hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may
know that I am the Lord your God."
If our bodies need a day
of rest each week to renew our strength for the coming week, could our diets
benefit from a break? Some people diet carefully every day and then on one day each
week, they eat anything they want.
The break day often falls
on a weekend, so the dieter can feel free to go out with the rest of the family
without guilt. It helps them stick to their food plan the rest of the week,
knowing the treat they want will be legal on their rest day.
This might not work for
someone who has a hard time getting back on the wagon the next day. One day,
even one day a week, may not seriously interrupt our weight loss progress, but
it will if we can’t resume our diets after the break.
