Clean Plate Club

Read Leviticus 19-21

Leviticus 19:10 "And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God."

Leaving food on our plates will not help those less fortunate. Eating everything on our plates will not feed starving folks in foreign countries.

Still, many of us grew up encouraged to clean our plates for a variety of reasons. It was a way for parents to get their children to eat healthy meals.

 

But now, we don’t have to feel compelled to finish everything in front of us. We can throw away what we can’t finish or wrap it up and save it to eat once we are hungry again.
